Michael D. Bills
Founder and President of Bluestem Asset Management, LLC
Before founding Bluestem, Michael served as Chief Investment Officer for the University of Virginia from June 2001 until January 2003. He formerly served as the Senior Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Tiger Management, LLC. Previously, he was a Vice President of Equity Trading and Arbitrage Division at Goldman, Sachs & Company. Michael also serves on the board of Charlottesville Tomorrow and The Nature Conservancy and the advisory board of Lone Pine Capital.
Mr. Bills received his B.A. at the University of Virginia and his M.B.A. at Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
D. Ronald Daniel
Chairman of Ripplewood Holdings Japan International
Prior to Ripplewood, Ron Daniel was the Treasurer of Harvard University, Chairman of Harvard Management Company, and Managing Partner of McKinsey & Company. In addition, he is the former Chairman of the Board of Fellows of Harvard Medical School, Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of Wesleyan University, Honorary Trustee of the Brookings Institution and Trustee Emeritus of Rockefeller University. Currently, he serves on the Boards of Thirteen/WNET, Infinity Pharmaceuticals and Brandeis University. In addition, he sits on the Advisory Board of Falconhead Capital and is a Member of the Council of Foreign Relations.
Mr. Daniel has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Wesleyan University.
Benjamin A. Gomez
Managing Director of Pilot House Associates
Prior to Pilot House, Ben Gomez was a Partner with HK&A Financial Consulting and Assistant Treasurer for Continental Cablevision. He began his career in the Media and Entertainment Division at The Bank of New York.
Mr. Gomez has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Foreign Service (Honors) from Georgetown University.
Christopher V. Greetham
Chris Greetham was, until he retired in 2006, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of XL Capital, a New York Stock Exchange listed Property and Casualty Company with investment assets in excess of $44 billion. Mr Greetham joined the Company in 1996. From 1982 to 1996 Mr Greetham was Chief Financial Officer of the Bermuda based OIL Insurance and President of OIL Investment Corporation. Between 1974 and 1982 he was a Vice President of Bankers Trust Company and worked both in London and New York in various roles in the Company’s investment management business. Prior to joining Bankers Trust Company Mr Greetham worked as an investment analyst for De Zoete and Bevan, a London based stockbroker. He is currently a director of Axis Capital, a NYSE listed Property and Casualty Company.
Mr. Greetham has a BA Economics degree and an M.Sc from Newcastle University.
Thomas J. Healey
Senior Director, Goldman Sachs & Co.
Senior Fellow and Adjunct Lecturer at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government
Tom Healey is the Chairman of the Rockefeller Foundation Investment Committee and serves on the Boards of Georgetown University, Hoover Institution, Resurrection School and Tri-Country Scholarship Fund. He currently serves as an advisor to Goldman’s private equity, real estate and Asian distressed investment funds.
Formerly, he was the Assistant Secretary of the United States Treasury under President Reagan and a Partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co.
Mr. Healey has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Georgetown University.
William W. Helman
Partner, Greylock Partners
Bill Helman joined Greylock in 1984, and represents Greylock on the boards of Zipcar, Incipient, OATSystems, OutlookSoft, Reveal Imaging, and Vettro. He also led Greylock's investments in Exact Sciences, Upromise, Tessera (merged with iXL), Ontogeny, Hyperion Software, Filene's Basement, Pharmacopeia, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Staples.com (acquired by Staples), and Vertex Pharmaceuticals. He serves on the Boards of Harvard Management Company, the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum, and The Steppingstone Foundation. He is also a member of the board of overseers at the Museum of Fine Arts and chair of the President’s Leadership Council at Dartmouth College.
Mr. Helman has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an A.B. from Dartmouth College.
Arthur I. Segel
Professor of Management Practice, Finance Department, Harvard Business School
As a professor at Harvard Business School, Mr. Segel has been writing cases and teaching the Real Property Asset Management course since 1996. He was a co-founder and co-owner of TA Associates Realty until 2001, an institutional real estate advisory firm specializing in commercial and multi-family real estate. Prior to TA Associates Realty in 1982, Mr. Segel worked as a Vice President at Boston Properties and as Deputy for Finance and Administration at Massport under Governor Michael S. Dukakis. Mr. Segel is the recent founder of Xander Funds, a real estate investment company in India, a founder of The Tobin Project, a non profit think tank and the 21st Century Fund, a non profit for public education. Mr. Segel is a member of the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP, a trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and is an officer, board member or overseer for numerous charities. Awarded one of 30 most influential actors in real estate in 2006 after a poll conducted in Private Equity Real Estate Journal.
Mr. Segel has an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Harvard College.
